Milan and the La Scala director: (...) Tomasz Krzysica won the first award in Milan in the international singing contest. He was accompanied by Medea Berianidze, a pianist and a teacher in the Pomeranian Academy of Pedagogy. 150 singers from all over the world participated in the contest of young soloists, and there was one Pole among them. The jury was presided over by Paolo Arca, the director of the Milan La Scala. (...) A few years ago T. Krzysica studied at the Musical Education Department of the then Higher School of Pedagogy in Słupsk. He was a third year student, when Medea Berianidze heard him.- "He had a voice of a nightingale. I begged him to give up these studies and go to the Music Academy. I was persuading him that the whole world would applaud him. I was not wrong" - says the pianist with pride.(Leokadia Lubliniecka)
(...) "Recently we have been observing an important and desirable musical offensive of academics. Apart from the excellent artists such as Medea Berianidze, Joanna Bernagiewicz-Madejska , Katarzyna Chacińska, Leszek Kułakowski, who give lectures there (...) -" owing to their didactic work, there are many active top level student groups".
(...)"Concerto Es-Dur for two pianos has not been played so far at the Polish Pianism Festival, because it is difficult to find two pianists, who would respond to the challenge and prepare the devilishly difficult, crystal-clear music of Amadeus - and Słupsk has such pianists. Medea Berianidze and Joanna Madejska took up this challenge bravely and won. They reached the level of teamwork and mutual understanding allowing them to lead the narration, draw the phrases nicely and polish up the nuances - at impeccable pianism. (...)"An excellent finale of the concert was the Fantasy c-moll by Beethoven (...) ", the performance in Słupsk sounded beautiful, whereby its main heroine was above all Medea Berianidze, who played the leading piano part. This was a perfect performance in terms of the sound, technicality, style and expression because, as usual in the case of Beethoven, the music is rich in moods, contrasts, nuances and virtuoso elements - perfectly exposed by the soloist".
(Kazimierz Rozbicki)
Stuttgart - Germany. (...) "This part of the concert at the Hohenheim University was led by professor Henryk Stiller, and the performance of the pianist from the Higher School of Pedagogy, Medea Berianidze was its perfect complement. The audience has called upon the performer to give encores several times" (Ryszard Hetnarowicz)
(...)" The attraction of the evening was the triple concerto C-dur of L. van Beethoven performed by M. Berianidze, (...)"Such a world-class performance of a musical composition is heard rarely"(Jarosław Chaciński)

Biography
Born and brought up in Tbilisi (Georgia), she started to play the piano at the age of 8. She graduated from the secondary music school and State Conservatoire in Tbilisi. She brought her skills to perfection as a solo pianist under the guidance of professors C. Kargareteli and E. Rusjszwili, and in regard to accompaniment-chamber music under the guidance of professors I. Glebowa, N. Łaperaszwili and G. Toroszelidze. Her inborn abilities to accompaniment did not escape the attention of the school teachers. Already during her studies she was engaged by her home Conservatoire as an accompanist at recruitment exams to the higher school. After graduation from her studies, as an evidence of recognition of her talent - the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Georgia, on motion of the university, funded her post-graduate training practice, which was completed by her in the Piotr Czajkowski Moscow Conservatoire at the faculty of Accompaniment Teaching under the direction of a prominent teacher and accompanist, professor E. Szenderowicz. The Moscow musical circles quickly recognised the above-average accompaniment skills of the pianist and proposed to her the cooperation with the leading accompanists of the Bolshoi Theatre, in particular with L. Mogilewska. An accompanist by avocation, she wished to deepen her knowledge of vocalism. She attended the classes of prominent professors-vocalists: Z. Sotkiława and E. Nesterenko. After the return to Tbilisi, she worked in the Georgian Philharmony as a soloist and an accompanist and cooperated permanently with the soloists of the Opera and Ballet Theatre, collaborating on programs and music concerts. The Management of the Secondary Music School proposed a job to her as a teacher-pianist, which is accepted by her. The civil war in Georgia affected her decision to leave the country. In 1993, she came to Polnad and took up a job at the Higher School of Pedagogy (at present Pomeranian Academy) in Słupsk as a lecturer and in the State School of Music as a teacher of the subject "piano lessons".
